Artist's Comments

Painted cover to a book for SPQ publications ("Bombshells") from earlier last year. Took me just over 3 weeks to paint it - gun took me around 3 days, as did the pants yadda yadda yadda. Possibly I am crazy, but to me there is something zen-like in being so immersed in details you lose track of time. One of my original sketches in presenting ideas to the client included a playing card stuck to one of the helmets, and now I wish I had done it, just to add a little more detail and a spot of red colour.
Sketched on paper, then painted in photoshop 7000x5000 pixels approx.

Great job as usual Loopydave. Like the way you blend the rough and soft textures of flesh and concrete. What brushes are you using in photoshop, and are you overloaded with layers or do you paint directly ontop of one layer?

Awesome Job!
