Cover paint by Loopydave Cover paint by Loopydave
Painted cover to a book for SPQ publications ("Bombshells") from earlier last year. Took me just over 3 weeks to paint it - gun took me around 3 days, as did the pants yadda yadda yadda. Possibly I am crazy, but to me there is something zen-like in being so immersed in details you lose track of time. One of my original sketches in presenting ideas to the client included a playing card stuck to one of the helmets, and now I wish I had done it, just to add a little more detail and a spot of red colour.
Sketched on paper, then painted in photoshop 7000x5000 pixels approx.

Thanks man, glad you like. Feels like a bit of an old piece now and I've been sitting on the follow up painting (in a jeep) forever... got to get around to painting it sometime soon :D

"Comrade! Comrade! I surrender!"

Very well done. You really got an excellent look to their clothing (what little of it they wear, anyways). It looks like it's actually been around a while.  I never could get the hang of wrinkles in fabric so I can appreciate it when it's used.

Thanks Abel! Cloth wrinkles are difficult, time consuming but ultimately rewarding... and one of my favourite things to paint!
