I'm sure there is insanity to be found in painting so may scales - every time I paint a crocodile I promise myself to NEVER do it again... but I guess I'm called 'loopy' for a reason.

Pencil sketch on paper, painted in photoshop.

must have been some work with all those scales, but it sure was worth it! Just...is it only me or... is he missing nostrils? Well doesn't seem like he would mind, though!

Painting individual crocodile scales - therein lies madness!
And his nostrils are in the bigger bump on the front of his nose... its just hard to tell from this angle :D
Cheers!

LoopyDave.... when you have an idea, is it clear in your mind or does it evolve in the early stages? This piece for example.

Hahaha... I moved well used pianos in my life time, up close and personal like and you have nailed this beauty.... IT'S ALLLIIIVVVEEEE!!
Beautiful.
Cheers.

Usually pretty clear in my mind... I did a very quick scribble of my idea for this one, and, besides from the finer details, it didn't change very much at all by the finished piece.
Kudos to you good sir... piano moving sounds like waaaay too much hard work for this little black duck!
Cheers!

I appreciate your time and candor Dave, thank you.
I imagine you must have quite the tight schedule.... what with the level of work you put out and taking the time to answer questions in dA....

Once again cheers, Bare.
