IFXcover by Loopydave IFXcover by Loopydave
Was most fortunate to be asked to do the cover for Imagine FX issue 105 issue on pinups.
Lots of fun to revisit the roller derby theme again...

Pencil sketch, painted in photoshop.

:D Unfortunately not... though the irony is I did get contacted by MAD to do some illustration work for them and I couldn't because I had to finish this very image.
Hopefully they contact me again!!

Congrats on the cover Dave!  I have this issue and your tutorial is great. Very helpful details in each step.

Thanks man, super nice of you to say! Had a lot of fun painting it, and if someone got something useful from my ramblings, even better :D

No problem.  I have a Photoshop question.  Any suggestions on how to speed up time using the pen tool when stroking paths?  Trying to maximize workflow.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure I can help you there, besides using them less? I find myself doing that and relying more on erasing or painting over.
Not sure that will help you, but I seem to do most things the long way I guess :D
